Annual Celebration of Inchon Landing "Operation Chromite"

Since 1994, MHA has honored the bravery and sacrifice of our veterans at the Annual Inchon Landing "Operation Chromite" Reception at Camp Pendleton. This significant event commemorates the anniversary of a pivotal moment in history that led to recapture of Seoul during the Korean War. For the past 31 years, we have welcomed war veterans and active-duty Marines, celebrating their courage and dedication and recognizing the incredible contributions of those who served.

Most veterans of the Korean War are now in their late 80’s and 90’s and wish to see the development and progress of the country they sacrificed their youth to protect. MHA initiated the Revisit Korea Program to invite those surviving veterans back to South Korea to show the Korean people's appreciation and gratitude as well as the lasting, positive impacts that their sacrifices have made. MHA has provided numerous trips back to Korea to have the veterans visit famous battle grounds, memorial monuments, and other landmarks to show that their sacrifices have not been forgotten.

Recognize and Commemorate Veterans

MHA has devoted many years to honoring the memories of those who served. In June 2010, we successfully worked with the Korean government to have the names of 623 Marines who perished in the fierce battles of the “Punchbowl” area during the Korean War inscribed on the memorial monument on Mt. Dosol. Furthermore, in October 2016, MHA contributed funds and helped erect the statue of Sgt. Reckless, the only horse honored with military burial. These efforts are part of our commitment to ensuring that our heroes' legacy lives on to inspire, teach, and guide us.
